Casisano Brunello di Montalcino D.O.C.G. vintage 2015 has deserved Tre bicchieri award from the prestigious wine guide Vini d’Italia – Il Gambero Rosso

Our journey to the metaphorical summit of Montalcino began in 2015, when Casisano, a panoramic 53-hectare estate in southeastern Montalcino, became part of our family, crowning a visionary viticultural project.
During these years we have worked hard with passion and dedication.
Giancarlo Tommasi and Emiliano Falsini, together with the whole team, developed a precise and well-defined project, marked by quality and excellence.

2015 was the first vintage entirely managed by our family and the accolades certainly indicate that the direction taken is the right one.

«The first Brunello that we have supervised from the vineyard to the winery» underlines Casisano’s enologist Emiliano Falsini, «is the synthesis of an ideal year and a special terroir: a wine of great depth, structure and elegance, destined to continue evolving with age in the bottle».

Is 2015 “the vintage of the century”, as some international wine writers have suggested? Some people have no doubt but, irrespective of individual points of view, we are undoubtedly talking about an outstanding year.

The 2015 vintage of Brunello di Montalcino, which has been on the market since early January, already began to be talked about several months ago in various parts of the world. In the United States in particular, critics’ judgments were so enthusiastic as to arouse unprecedented expectations. These opinions were confirmed in Montalcino itself. The 2015 vintage was in fact given its maximum rating by the Brunello Consortium’s Tasting Panel: “5 stars”, which equates to “exceptional”.

2015 Casisano Brunello di Montalcino DOCG: an excellent example of the vintage’s distinctive characteristics.
The wine is produced with selected 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes, selected in the nine hectares of vineyards of Podere Casisano, which are exclusively dedicated to the production of Brunello.

During the tastings, Casisano Brunello 2015 immediately stood out thanks to its characteristics and personality. It opens up to the nose with an elegant and fresh complexity of fruity and spicy notes typical of Sangiovese. The harmony on the palate is very attractive, with a rich structure that is accompanied by velvety tannins and great persistence.
It is no accident that this new wine immediately obtained some significant scores:
94/100 from James Suckling
94/100 from Wine Spectator
94/100 from Falstaff
93/100 from Decanter
91/100 from Robert Parker Wine Advocate
17+ /20 from Jancis Robinson
